I'm foregoing Saturday
list day to call your attention to a couple of additions, changes,
and general carryings-on I'd like you to be aware of.
All of the people linked
on your left in the "Outside Links" column deserve
your eyeballs on a regular basis; they have excellent sites and
work hard at them, and if you're not clicking on them, please
consider doing so. It's free, and will spare you a brutal beating.
Claire Zulkey, in particular, produces a daily journal
that delights and amuses, and she may not be getting your page
views becase, due to an accident of alphabetics, she's all the
way down there at the bottom of the page. Pay her a visit, won't
you?
Christian Longshore Claiborn
is back in America, and after an agonizing hiatus, he's blogging
again over at Brainslug.
He's always worth reading.
Iron
Scribe is a new
project of my very own; I hope it will prove to be contentious,
hilarious and addictive, like crack that comes in funny animal
balloons. If you'd like to spectate, head over to the site; if
you'd like to participate, drop
me a line.
Jon Morris not only hosts
a consistently fun LiveJournal
site, but is also a terrific comic artist and writer. Check
out Ape Law and Wheo!Um
as well as his journal; you'll be happy you did.
Nobody likes my cranky,
directionless, ill-thought-out political ravings. For a more
competent dose of current events in these dangerous times, it's
a good idea to check in with Cursor
every weekday. It's all the media you wish you had.
There's a few new faces
over there on the left, too, and if you click on them, maybe
they will feel guilty enough to update frequently. They include
Auto-da-Fe, by
the helpful administrator and architect of the Iron Scribe site;
Cubicle Coma,
by the enjoyably nasty Emily J.; the return of an actually-occassionally-updated
Slumbering Lungfish;
the delightful Yuriverse,
by America's funniest Russian; and a relaunch of Emetophobia,
by the most hardcore goddamn chick I have never been lucky enough
to meet.
Finally, if you're in
the mood to throw your money away on overpriced, poorly designed
merchandise of limited use, questionable quality, and no point,
there's lots better things you could waste it on than Ludic
Log merchandise. But buy it anyway, because if you do I get
money.
Happy Saturday.
The first anniversary
of the Ludic Log is Monday. Appropriate gifts include paper and
clocks, but you could forego the shipping costs by clicking on
the e-mail link below and sending me questions, requests or suggestions
instead.
